Beqa is an island in the Fiji, 10 kilometers to south of the main island Viti Levu. It has a land area of only 36 square kilometers and reaches an altitude of 462 meters maximum. It is surrounded by Beqa Lagoon which is one of the famous largest barrier reefs in the world. It the most popular diving and swimming spot not only in Fiji, but also in the Pacific Ocean. There are namely four resorts in this island namely Beqa Lagoon Resort, Kulu Bay Resort, Lalati Resort and Royal Davui Resort. Among them, the Beqa Lagoon Resort was voted “Best Dive Resort in the World”. Besides scuba diving, you can also participate in the Fijian tradition of fire walking. Fire walking is an act of walking barefoot over a bed of hot stones with temperature up to 1200 degrees Fahrenheit. Best times in a year to visit Beqa Lagoon are from September to November.
